Embracer Games Archive celebrates 5 years

 

This year, Embracer Games Archive celebrates its fifth anniversary.

It is hard to believe how quickly time has passed and how much has happened since the archive was established. Over these five years, we have built the archive from the ground up, prepared the facilities and created a proper home for the collection.

Along the way, we have sorted and catalogued more than 90,000 objects. Today, every object in the archive is registered in our database with images.

But Embracer Games Archive is about much more than building a collection. During these five years, we have supported exhibitions, researchers, schools and others interested in video game history. We have also provided material and support for new releases of older games, helping parts of gaming history become accessible again.

For us, the archive is not only about preserving physical objects, but also about making the collection useful and accessible to people who want to explore, study and preserve video game history.

A lot has happened in five years, and there is still so much more we want to do.
